Dunes Golf Club: This PRIVATE Dunes Golf and Beach Club is not only rated as the No. 1 golf course in Myrtle Beach, but also as one of the best courses in the world. In 2014 they hosted the 2014 PGA Professional National Championship. Designed by Robert Trent Jones and opened in 1949, this historic Dunes Club continues to be ranked the “No. 1 Golf Course in Myrtle Beach” by Golf Digest, Golf Magazine and Golfweek, along with numerous national and international accolades. The Dunes Club has played host to six Senior Tour PGA Championships, one Women’s U.S. Open and several PGA Tour Q-School finals. It’s also home to one of the nation’s top-rated Par-5s, known as “Waterloo,” which features an inverted dogleg around Lake Singleton. With a Lowcountry terrain that varies from the oceanfront, salt marshes, tidal creeks and maritime forests, the Dunes Club also is known as the most scenic course in Myrtle Beach. We were able to get on this great private course due to staying at the Marina Inn resort at Grande Dunes.

Nicknamed “The Granddaddy,” the landmark lovely Southern clubhouse, combined with the Scottish theme and elegant beauty of the rolling fairways and lakes make this golf course a great test. Pine Lakes, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, was originally designed as a 27-hole course by architect Robert White, first president of the PGA.
Grande Dunes Golf Club: The Resort Club course at Grande Dunes, looks down from a high bluff jutting out over the Intracoastal Waterway, Grande Dunes Marina and the Marina Inn. This links-style design course has large, Bermuda grass fairways, and bentgrass greens. The Resort course was recently named “National Golf Course of the Year” by the National Golf Course Owners Association of America.
