Portmarnock Golf Club: Established in 1894, those playing Portmarnock Golf Club are enjoying a very rare privilege a day at a very private club that is not dissimilar to famed Muirfield in Scotland. This is one of the finest golf courses in Ireland as it is also rated the 25th " Best golf course in the World" by Golf Digest magazine. It has hosted over 100 championships, from the Irish Open 18 times, Dunlop Masters, Walker Cup, British Amateur, to name just a few.
Portmarnock Links: Located next to our group hotel and will be OPTIONAL for this trip: This highly rated golf course was designed by Bernard Langer and opened in 1995. It has hosted many professional and amateur events and is rated in the top 20 golf courses in Ireland. The Portmarnock Hotel and Golf Links is built on the former Jameson family estate, of Jameson whiskey fame. The original mansion is now part of the hotel, and they have made the first floor of the old house into the Jameson Bar, which is an award-winning hotel bar.
This round of golf is included in the golfer package but, is optional in regards to the tournament. Instead of playing this round, you may opt to sightsee at some of the great sights in Ireland. For those who play, a skins game will be available.
Ardglass Golf Club: Located in Northern Ireland this golf course is an 18 hole links course in a natural setting hugging the north-east coast of Ireland, with stunning views, and unique golf holes. With the almost ever-present wind capable of wreaking havoc from any direction, on the fast fairways and the small firm greens, it is a fun test of golf. The Irish Sea, which can be seen from all 18 tees and greens, comes into play on no fewer than 8 holes. This will be one of the most memorable golf rounds in your life, and will be used for the second round of our golf tournament.
